Fillorin ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Speed Test ("Pulse")
Android application. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it,
and how it is used. It is written to satisfy Google Play's Data Safety and User Data disclosure
requirements.
By using Pulse, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you don't agree, please
don't use the app.
1. What Data We Collect
Pulse is a utility app. No account, sign-in, name, email address, or phone number is
ever collected. The data involved falls into three categories:

Approximate location (from IP address): When Pulse starts, it sends your
device's public IP address to a third-party geolocation service (ipapi.co) to get a
city/region-level location. This is used only to rank nearby test servers — Pulse never
requests device GPS/precise location permission, and this data is not stored by us.

Speed test network traffic: During a test, your device downloads and uploads
data to/from test servers to measure throughput. This is standard network traffic and
contains no personal information. Raw test results are not sent to Fillorin's servers.

App diagnostics & usage data: Pulse uses Google Firebase to understand
crashes and how the app is used. See Section 3 for details on exactly what this includes.
Your test results and history stay on your device. Pulse stores your test
history locally in the app's private storage only. We do not operate a server that stores your
results, and nothing is synced to a Fillorin-owned cloud account.
2. How the Speed Test Works
When you run a test, Pulse:
- Fetches a list of public test servers from the LibreSpeed server registry.
- Uses your approximate IP location to rank nearby servers by latency and distance.
- Transfers data to/from the chosen server to measure download speed, upload speed, and ping.
- Displays the result on your screen.
None of these steps involve sending your results or personal data to Fillorin. The test
traffic goes directly between your device and the chosen test server.
3. Third-Party Services
Pulse connects to or embeds the following third-party services:

ipapi.co — provides approximate geographic coordinates from your public IP
address, used only for nearest-server ranking. Your IP is shared with ipapi.co during this
lookup, and with the built-in "IP Lookup" and "DNS Check" tools if you choose to use them.

LibreSpeed (librespeed.org) — an open-source server registry used to
discover available test servers. Pulse fetches the public server list from this registry.

Cloudflare Speed (speed.cloudflare.com) — used as a fallback test
endpoint when no other server is available, and as the network-diagnostics endpoint for
some of the built-in Net Tools. Standard network traffic only.

LibreSpeed community servers — independent servers listed in the LibreSpeed
registry operated by third parties. Test traffic is exchanged directly with whichever server
is selected. Fillorin does not operate these servers and is not responsible for their
individual privacy practices.

Google Firebase Analytics — collects app usage events (for example, when a
test starts, completes, or fails, and which mode or unit you selected) together with
Google-assigned identifiers such as your Firebase App Instance ID and Android Advertising ID.
These events describe app behavior, not you personally, and are never combined with a name,
email address, or account. Used to understand which features are used and to improve the app.

Google Firebase Crashlytics — automatically collects crash reports and
diagnostic context (such as the test mode and network type active at the time) when the app
crashes or hits an internal error, so we can fix bugs. Crash reports may include device model,
OS version, and a stack trace, but not your name or contact details.

Google Play In-App Updates (Play Core) — checks the Google Play Store for
newer app versions and, when required, prompts an in-app update. This uses your existing
Google Play Store account state on-device; Fillorin does not receive any additional data from
this check.

You can see (and reset or delete) the Google-assigned advertising identifier used by Firebase
Analytics at any time in your device's Settings → Privacy → Ads (or Google
Settings → Ads on older Android versions).
We do not use advertising networks or data brokers, and we do not sell your data. Firebase
Analytics and Crashlytics data is processed by Google on our behalf, governed by
Google's Data Processing Terms.
4. Data Retention
Fillorin does not operate a server that stores Pulse user data. Your test history lives only
in the app's local storage on your device; uninstalling the app deletes it permanently, and you
can also clear it at any time from the History screen's "Clear" button.
Analytics events and crash reports sent to Firebase are retained by Google under Firebase's
own retention settings (analytics data is retained for up to 14 months by default). Fillorin
does not maintain a separate copy or user database of this data.
5. Children's Privacy
Pulse is a general-purpose utility suitable for all audiences. We do not knowingly collect
personal information from anyone, including children. Since no account or personal data is
required to use the app, there is no special risk to younger users.
6. Permissions
Pulse requests the following Android permissions:

INTERNET — required to connect to test servers and perform speed tests.

ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE — used to detect whether you're on Wi-Fi, mobile
data, or Ethernet, and to show basic connection status in the app.

ACCESS_WIFI_STATE — used by the Wi-Fi Details and Network Info tools to
show signal strength, link speed, and frequency of your current Wi-Fi connection.
Pulse never requests location, camera, microphone, contacts, storage, or SMS permissions.
7. Policy Updates
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the
"Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes
constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
